Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank has become the latest corporate entity to buy naming rights to stations on the Dubai Metro network.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Monday that ADCB has signed an agreement to put its name to the Karama station on the Red Line.

Abdullah Yousef, CEO of RTA Rail Agency, said the deal was part of the RTA’s keenness to avail the opportunity for various public and private companies in the UAE to participate in the naming rights project.

“Partnering with the Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, which has joined a series of companies benefiting from the metro naming rights project, and will have the naming rights of Al Karama station, is a testament to the success of the project which gained the confidence of partners.”

He said the naming project has been copied by cities such as Chicago, Boston, Houston, London, Delhi-Gurgaon, Philadelphia, Montreal and Rio de Janeiro. More info
